time for family

Jan 11, 2010

Our family has stewardships over different areas of our life. Each person has room to be in charge of keeping clean and a family activity they are to direct. Some of the activities are a family service project, a family fun night, and family prayer. Fisher’s activity stewardship is family prayer – he is in charge of calling us to prayer each night. He loves his job and says “Time for family!” each night. At first we tried to get him to say “time for family prayer,” but he doggedly refused to change. Now we find it quite endearing…”time for family.”

Isn’t that what evening worship should be? A time to gather as husband and wife, parents and children, brothers and sisters and thank our Heavenly Father for the blessings of that day. A time to plead for needed help for our family. What better way to end the day than to kneel in prayer together with hearts and minds unified for a few precious moments.

Time for family. Yes, it is.
