yellow squash soup

Jun 17, 2015

Last summer when I couldn’t open my mouth to eat at all, my friend Sherry brought over this delicious soup. I have saved her handwritten recipe for the past 12 months and vowed to make it again, but I haven’t done it yet. My face has been hurting significantly since the January 31 car accident and last week a little toddler landed on my head in the swimming pool and now my face is swollen and needing to rest again, so I think I will make this soup soon.

Yellow Squash Soup

2 C. chopped yellow summer squash
1 C. chopped carrots
1 C. chopped onion
4 C. peeled potatoes
garlic – not sure of the amount here…maybe 1 clove?

Boil in chicken or veggie broth. Add 1 can evaporated milk, salt & pepper, and cayenne. Blenderize till smooth.

I don’t know how your website popped up on my screen but there it was ” Wet Oat Meal Kisses ” I am 60 years old, my children are all grown in fact I even lost one from brain cancer five years ago at 31 years old. Erma Bombeck’s articles were in our newspaper daily, when “Wet Kisses” was in I cut it out and put it in my wallet. All that remains is ripped up pieces, we are talking 30 something years ago. To this day it makes me cry, the silence is horrible after four kids one after another. Thank You for a little piece of yesterday.

Hi Jackie, welcome to my little home on the web! I’m sorry to hear of your child’s passing, that must be incredibly hard. I hope you will find a bit of cheer and comfort as you read here. xoxo
