first kiss

Jun 28, 2011

June 28…the anniversary of our first kiss. Richard’s first kiss ever…and oh, what a wonderful kiss it was. Then I kissed his nose and he said “You kissed my nose!” in surprise. Apparently, he didn’t know noses need kisses, too.

Richard was one of those somewhat rare individuals that choose to save their kisses for the one they are going to be with forever. I knew he wasn’t kissing anyone except for the girl he knew he was going to marry, so when he kissed me on that summer evening eighteen years ago, it took my breath away. Not only because he was a fabulous kisser, but because I knew what it meant. It meant he had decided I was to be his wife. By that time, I had known for weeks we were going to get married, but it felt very different when this good, grounded, not-given-to-flights-of-fancy man told me with his lips that I was the one he chose above all others. I was the one he was giving his heart to…completely.

Thank you for giving me that heart…then and now…it has made all the difference.

Oh, so sweet! I hope all my kids wait to kiss until they know it is the one they want to spend forever with.

Question: how did he get to be such a good kisser with no practice? Arm practice? I’m glad he saved it for you. I remember you calling me right after that. Happy kiss anniversary.

I have no idea how he was any good at all! Can’t imagine he practiced on anything! Must have been all that love for me coming out!

Just asked him again about his kissing prowess…he said ‘I had watched a lot of people kissing and thought a lot about how to make it good.”

      LOL!!! He cracks me up!
