seventeen years

Oct 15, 2010

I have been married to my dear one for seventeen years.

Wow.

I am pretty much speechless.

My heart is so full of love for this man – gratitude for his love for me and utter amazement that God brought us together and gave us this family – that I can’t even begin to describe my feelings.

Let me try.

It’s like being wrapped inside a warm, snuggly quilt that was sewn by hand by someone who loves you and who picked out each piece of fabric with the utmost care.

It’s like smelling your grandmother’s brownies and knowing they were made just for you.

It’s like all the joy and excitement of your very first “love”, but a bajillion times better.

It’s like looking at a beautiful sunrise and knowing He made it beautiful for His children to enjoy.

It’s like holding a newborn baby and feeling that sacred peace that comes with new life.

Can you feel it?

Marriage can be the most joyous relationship we have…or it can be the most depressing and life-sucking. I am blessed to have a marriage that brings me joy, a man that adores me, and a mutual determination to love one another no matter what, no matter when, forever and for always.

He made us a scrumptious anniversary meal tonight…his signature chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. He loves cooking for us, loves to see our faces light up with delight at the yummy-ness of his food.

I love my Richard and am going to go give him a massage. He deserves it.

Happy Anniversary Tracy! You’re right it is pretty hard to describe. I’m so glad that an amazing woman like you also has an amazing husband that is loving and supportive. I just love when my husband cooks too.
