fiar: hot air

This week we are reading Hot Air by Marjorie Priceman. It tells the mostly true story of the first hot air balloon ride in Versailles, France in 1783. A chicken, sheep, and duck were sent up in the air and stayed up for eight minutes traveling about two miles. This particular book gives the background events and then makes up what could have happened to the three animals as they flew across the city. Fisher thinks it is hilarious and we think you will as well.

Oh, I’m excited to search for this one- we loved reading her “How To Bake an Apple Pie and See the World” this past fall. She seems to have a great hold on children through her pictures and words. Hope you have so much fun snuggling and giggling to this one, too! The next two weeks we are rowing “Very Last First Time”, which will hopefully inspire bravery in the dark!

We enjoyed Very Last First Time, but it was not quite silly enough for Fisher to love it. He is on a silliness kick right now!
